Happy Halloween...

Happy Halloween…

Halloween this year will be one to remember!!

We carved pumpkins and this year Master E and Madam T had their first go at their own creations…

E carved a Bin Weevil complete with square nose and eyebrows.

Madam’s is a spider – I was incredibly impressed as she carefully counted 8 legs.
Mine are a cat and an owl – although carving the owl was a little more like peeling a pumpkin after the children’s uncle had done a very thorough job of scraping out.

Having emptied 4 huge pumpkins we had to go in search of recipes…

Pumpkin and Chicken soup

Two varieties of pumpkin soup were whipped up, Pumpkin, Carrot & Chilli and Pumpkin & Chicken and delicious it was too!

Then there was Pumpkin, Almond and Cranberry loaf and Pumpkin & Apple Crumble which was gone before I had time to take a pic. We puréed pumpkin to add to baby food and still have pumpkin to spare! Do you know any pumpkin recipes we should try?

Then there was serious excitement when Emma at Me the Man and the Baby told us we’d won her Halloween party pack from Duracell. We got a lovely box with Halloween, stories, music, decorations and projection torches for spooky fun. Naturally now we had decorations for a party more baking was needed…

The down side of the last few days has been two sick babies and my tiny kitty (Lil’F) and dinosaur (C the boy) could not fully enjoy the festivities. I haven’t even managed a photo of F yet because she’s super clingy and sorry for herself.

It was very disappointing to have to leave them behind as Me, E and T headed up to South Kensington for a pre-trick or treat party at Stella McCartney’s store!!

We had a wonderful afternoon in glamorous surroundings! There were orange and green slushies, face painting, tattoos, nail art and mask making. The Mummy’s were spoilt too with a bit of bubbly and a wonderful selection of canapés  It was the perfect round up to our Hallows Eve!

Hope you had frightfully spooky Halloweens too!
