Snow Friday...

Here's the snow post that I didn't really believe was going to happen...
The children woke up disappointed that there was no snow they grudgingly dressed and we set off to school. There was a small bit of sleet in the air and I confidently told them...
'That's too light to settle it needs to get heavier.'
By the time we got to E's school I had to admit it was indeed settling and by the time I got home we had a promising dusting on the road. Schools were remaining open and hubby's trains were running. The tots and I settled down to watch the snow fall out the window. When Lil'F napped C and I decided to go for a play in it - our footprints were soon covered. At midday hubby was sent home and the schools were suggesting that children be collected early if possible.

Snow

So hubby got home and collected the older children and we wrapped up for a walk in the park. I have a feeling this place could be a regular feature of our posts - here it is as a wintry wonderland...

The walk was wonderful; we giggled at the ice skating ducks especially when they slipped or fell through a thin bit! We hid behind trees and shook them when Daddy came past, threw snowballs and made snow angels. I was wrong about C who walked the whole way even uphill with snow reaching the top of his boots. He didn't complain about the cold (even though he must've been, I was) or the mess.
After changing out of our wet clothes and warming up we took E & T out for a meal - a perfect end to a wonderful day!

  2. Looks like you had the magical covering that passed us by in Cornwall. Your day is just how I imagine mine would be if we had the same snow. A beautiful read. Thank you for sharing on Country Kids.
