The MADS Blogger Awards 2013…

The MADs (Mum & Dad) blog awards nominations are open and I’m not going to lie about being ridiculously excited by these!

Last year I had just started blogging when the short list was in and voting well under way, I voted for my favourites but didn’t really ‘know’ the blogs. This year I not only get to sit for hours with a list of my favourites trying to decide which is most suitable in each category (no easy task) – I can also put myself forward for nominations!

I said on twitter when they opened that as much as I wouldn’t dwell on it if I didn’t get nominated I’d be delighted if I did! Then at least one person (who wasn’t my Mum) said they’d nominate me and the ridiculous teary eyed reaction that followed had my husband thoroughly amused and announcing that I can now never laugh at an Oscar winners speech again!

I’m thoroughly enjoying the buzz around them already; reading twitter feeds, trawling the lists of nominations checking my favourites are there and discovering new blogs. I’m not good at the ‘nominate me’ pleas, there are hundreds of blogs out there and plenty I consider more deserving. However, if you are voting and have a spare box to fill, or didn’t know you could vote and enjoy my blog – I’m eligible for the new blogger category but honoured to be stuck wherever you think I fit.
