The welfare room…
Are definitely on first name terms with both my children. Is this normal or are the particularly accident prone?
I personally think there may be a secret challenge to see who can amass the most visits as they appear out of school triumphantly waving yet another orange accident report.
‘Madam T scratched her leg on a bench whilst discussing details for a game of hopscotch.’
‘Master E leant back to far to retrieve his pencil and fell off his chair!’
Now as if mine weren’t already attracted enough by the nurse’s office there seems to be another incentive…
Whilst I’m discussing the sick bay a quick rant…
Am I soft or are schools a little tough?
One day madam visited 3 times for an ear ache; each time they took her temperature but as it was normal I wasn’t called. Another day she was sick at school and again I wasn’t called. Under each of these circumstances I’d really like to be informed. Granted I’m at home and for those that need to arrange time off or find someone else to cover calls from school are probably terribly inconvenient. I don’t consider Madam a moaner and after 3 visits I assume she’s feeling pretty sorry for herself and would prefer to bring her home.
What do you think, does your child visit the sick room regularly, does your school call too often, would you like to know when your child has been sick?
