TOMS + Wild Aid, Panda Collection…
A couple of weeks ago we were invited to the TOMS store, Foubert’s Place which is just off Carnaby Street behind Liberty’s London to learn about their newest partnership. Now those that are already aware of the TOMS brand will probably know that they have an amazing ethos centred around giving back. I, however, must admit to being a latecomer to TOMS but instantly fell in love with both their beliefs and the fantastic collection of products.
For those of you who, like me are new to the concept, TOMS is primarily a range of shoes, however, their range has expanded to include bags and sunglasses too. The company was developed from the outset with a mission to provide shoes for children with none by giving the ‘One for One’. This means quite simply that for each pair you buy, TOMS will give a pair to a child in need and over the 10 years they’ve been in business this has provided over 60 million pairs of shoes in 70 countries.
With the expansion of their range has also been the expansion of giving; so when you purchase a pair of their sunglasses you give the gift of sight through glasses, surgery or other treatment. TOMS bags give the wonderful gift of safe birth be providing kits and training for birth attendants.
Their most recent partnership is with Wild Aid to raise awareness of the plight of the Giant Panda. TOMs are supporting their latest public awareness campaign to educate locals and inspire enthusiasm for conservation. There are less than 2000 Giant Panda in the wild and protecting them and their habitat will also protect an entire ecosystem of rare birds, insects, plants and more.
To celebrate this very special partnership TOMS have released these special limited edition shoes as part of their SS17 collection. The whole family can enjoy this collection with the Panda face design is available in tiny sizes from UK 1.5-10, and Panda Camo in just about all sizes for tiny, juniors, men and women. The vegan-friendly canvas shoes have a padded removable bacteria fighting insole, they are very light and comfortable to wear.
Now I’ve discovered this amazing company they will be my first port of call when one of the family need a pair of shoes. The current collection had so many shoes I was tempted to go back for with pretty sequins, lace and some fun prints. I love to think that next time I purchase my children yet another pair of shoes I will also be buying them for a child in real need.
