I received products, services or tickets to an event mentioned in this post free of charge in return for an honest review. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I would use personally and any opinions expressed are my own.
Having taken up ice-skating as a family this year, we knew as Christmas approached that we wanted to test out our new skills on as many as London’s pop-up rinks as possible.
Probably top of our list and our first stop was The Natural History Museum’s Ice Rink. The Museum is such an iconic sight and for me, growing up in West London it became the landmark of our entry to the capital on occasions when I was driven in as a child. Looking up at the beautiful building adorned with moulds and statues of the creatures studied within fills me with the same awe now as it did then.
It’s an idyllic winter experience to skate around a rink with a sensational 30ft Christmas tree at its centre in such an incredible location.
The rink is perfect for all ages and abilities and not only are there penguin skating aids available for little ones, there’s also a small covered rink to one side where they can find their feet in a smaller more secure feeling space.
There is also the novelty of a rink side photo booth where you can snap a photo of your group to collect later.
Photos are collected upstairs from the rink beside The Cafe Bar which is a perfect place to sit and watch or relax after a skate. The Cafe Bar is welcoming and cosy serving a great variety of winter treats, settle inside in the comfortable sofas or wrap up and watch the ice skating action from the perfectly positioned viewing balcony.
The rink is open from 25th October 2018 to Sunday 6th January 2019 with tickets priced from £8.80 for children, £12.65 for adults and £39.60 for a family. To book visit www.nhmskating.com or ticketmaster.co.uk or in person at the box office by the rink.
You could also try your luck here because I’ve got a ticket for a family of four to giveaway. The competition runs until midnight on 7th December; entry via the Rafflecopter form which contains full details, terms and conditions.
