When it comes to choosing the appearance of your kids’ bedroom, the decision can be a difficult one. Not only do you need to consider the design, you also need to think about what bed they need and the amount of space you have to work with. Above all else, you need to make sure your kids are happy!
Choosing the right bed
Naturally, one of the most important things in any bedroom is the bed you put in it. They’ll spend most of their time in there sleeping. It needs to look good, fit the room and it needs to be comfy! If you’re on the lookout for a great kid’s bed, there’s a huge range of beds from Bed Guru that’ll be perfect.
A bit like us adults, a lot of kids like to have a bit of extra space. If this is the case and you have the room for it then you may want to look into a double bed. This also gives them space to grow into and you won’t need to purchase a new one when they reach their teen years.
Get the design right
You’ll find your kids are more likely to be bothered about the design of their room than anything else. They want something they can show off to their friends that looks good and reflects them.
There are lots of different routes you can go down. Some will like a funky looking room with bright and vibrant colours, others will prefer keeping things neutral with greys and darker colours. Themed wallpapers are also a good choice and can quickly transform the room into your child’s favourite things from football to princess palaces.
Make the most of small spaces
Sometimes, space can be of a premium, especially in a messy kid’s bedroom. You’ll need to make sure you make the most of the space you have to maximise the amount of room they have to play in.
You may want to take a look at cabin beds. They’re a great option for limited spaces because not only do you get a bed but also a huge amount of storage. This gives you somewhere to store away all the clutter and clothes – keeping their room nice and tidy.
You may want to look into wardrobes with multiple storage options, this is another great way of making the most of your space. They need room to play and you need room to be able to move around their room. It’s important you make the most of the space you have.
Hopefully, these suggestions have helped you when it comes to decorating your kids’ room. You’ll only get one chance to do it, so make sure you get it right first time!
